Job Summary
Plumbing Designer/Engineer to lead the design of plumbing systems for commercial, hospitality, and restaurant projects. Responsibilities include designing domestic water, sanitary, storm drainage, and gas systems; producing high-fidelity construction documents and specifications; coordinating with mechanical, electrical, and structural teams; performing load calculations and ensuring code compliance with IPC and IBC; supporting project managers with schedules and budgets; reviewing shop drawings and RFIs during construction; and representing the firm in client meetings and design reviews. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3–8 years of plumbing design experience in an MEP consulting setting, plus proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD and strong IPC/IBC knowledge. Preferred qualifications include EIT certification or progress toward PE licensure, experience with commercial kitchen grease waste systems and high-rise plumbing, LEED or energy-efficient practices, and construction administration/site observation exposure.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience)
- 3–8 years of dedicated experience in plumbing design within the MEP consulting industry
- Advanced command of Revit and AutoCAD
- Deep familiarity with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and International Building Code (IBC)
