Job Summary
Plumbing Designer responsible for collaborating with the engineering team to design plumbing systems for projects, producing detailed plumbing drawings and specifications for water supply, drainage, sewage, fire protection, medical gases, and specialty water systems. Will perform plumbing calculations (fixture units, sizing of water supplies, drainage, storm sizing, medical gas sizing, hot water loads, natural gas sizing), select materials (pipes, fittings, valves, pumps), stay current with local plumbing codes and industry standards, prepare technical reports, and conduct site visits to ensure installations meet design and quality standards. Requires an Associate or Bachelor's degree in engineering and 4-7 years of plumbing design experience; proficiency in Revit; knowledge of healthcare/education design and fire protection systems is desirable; CPD/CPDT preferred; strong communication skills and attention to detail; familiarity with sustainable plumbing practices.
