Job Summary
The plumbing and heating mechanic is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all plumbing and heating systems at the College. Duties include installing and maintaining plumbing and heating systems, inspecting and repairing fixtures, responding to emergencies, and maintaining records related to preventative maintenance. Successful candidates will have a high school diploma, relevant experience, and a Maine State Journeyman Plumbing License. The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, and the capability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting and equipment operation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Maine State Journeyman Plumbing License or equivalent experience
- Prior experience with installing and maintaining institutional/ commercial plumbing and heating systems
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Valid driver’s license
Desired Qualifications
- Applicable licensure such as Journeyman Oil Burner
- Certified Welder
- High Pressure Boiler Operator
