Job Summary
Design plumbing and fire protection systems per client requirements, perform engineering calculations, prepare single line diagrams, and conduct short circuit analysis where needed. Coordinate with the design team and project stakeholders to execute project objectives, review projects for consistency with client requirements and budgets, and ensure drawings meet federal, state, and local codes. Perform site surveys, attend pre-bid meetings, and provide field construction support as required. Work out of Voorhees, NYC, or Linwood, NJ, in a hybrid or remote capacity.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum three to five years with proven progression in Plumbing and Fire Protection design with and emphasis on sustainable/green building
- Experience in executing a design project with Autodesk Autocad or Revit and implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Engineer in Training having taken the FE exam and should be working towards professional licensure
- Must be knowledgeable of local, state and national code requirements
- Must be a good time manager, comfortable with frequent deadlines and transitions
- Effective at working with other staff members in a fast-paced environment
- Must have excellent communication skills to effectively communicate complex ideas and have strong technical writing skills and technical documentation skills with the ability to prepare presentations and reports
- Able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Must be able to work out of Voorhees, NJ, NYC, or Linwood NJ office
- Must be able to work hybrid or remote
Desired Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge and utilization of Autocad, Revit experience is a plus
- Knowledgeable of the USGBC LEED Rating system and standards is a plus
