Job Summary
Under general supervision, maintain the flow and drainage of water, air, and other gases by assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures districtwide. Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all plumbing systems in district facilities. Responsibilities include maintenance and repair of heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems; detect and repair malfunctions; install and repair fixtures and equipment (sinks, toilets, water heaters, kitchen appliances); receive work orders, estimate material and labor, and maintain records; inspect completed work, coordinate with school principals and supervisors, and respond to emergency calls. Requires a high school diploma or GED, Texas journeyman plumber license, Texas driver’s license, and knowledge of plumbing repairs, codes, blueprints, and safety procedures; four years of plumbing experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid journeyman plumber’s license issued by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners
- Clear and valid Texas driver’s license
- Knowledge of plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
- Knowledge of plumbing codes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
