Job Summary

Lay out, assemble, fabricate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair piping and plumbing systems under the direction of the Mechanical Superintendent. Install 6" and 10" PVC SDR 35 storm sewer piping, cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications, and assemble joints using welding, brazing, cementing, and soldering. Inspect, examine, and test installed systems using pressure gauges and hydrostatic testing, while measuring and marking pipes for cutting. Plan pipe system layouts, select materials, and cut holes in structures prior to installation. Remove worn components and modify systems following specifications, ensuring all work adheres to industry practices, quality control, and safety standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a certified Plumber
  • Possess pipefitting skills for 2" to 20"pipe
  • Experience with large bore PVC piping
  • Experience in site services
  • Hoisting and rigging skills are considered an asset
  • Must be able to work independently and be reliable
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
  • Proactive in ensuring job knowledge is current
  • Valid WHMIS, Elevated Work Platform and Working at Heights/Fall Arrest certificates are required

Desired Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience working on heavy construction projects is an asset
