Job Summary
Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing and mechanical equipment systems, troubleshoot repairs, and execute assigned work orders for construction, carpentry, or welding tasks. Monitor facility equipment for efficient operation, operate necessary hand tools, and perform custodial services to maintain buildings and grounds in a clean, safe condition. Determine parts, secure materials, and track time and usage logs. Requires two years of facilities maintenance experience, familiarity with Fort Worth city codes, and a valid driver's license. Works irregular hours including weekends and holidays, often outdoors in various weather conditions. Required Qualifications
- Two years experience as a facilities maintenance technician or able to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed under duties
- Familiar with maintenance/construction equipment and safety practices
- Ability to operate various maintenance/construction equipment and tools
- Knowledge of Fort Worth city codes as needed
- Valid driver license with acceptable motor vehicle record to maintain Zoo standards of insurability
- Ability to work irregular hours (holidays and weekends)
- Ability to work special events and functions as required
- Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold and inclement weather
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
