Job Summary
Determine piping system requirements, measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes, and interpret blueprints to map water supply and drainage layouts. Install, replace, and repair valves, pumps, fixtures, and equipment while testing for leaks. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on facility mechanical systems, respond to service requests, and monitor facility plumbing to ensure uptime and safety objectives. Comply with environmental, health, and safety standards, building codes, and internal policies. Submit expenditures timely, maintain tool inventory, and assist in implementing preventative maintenance programs. Work shifts, be available for on-call/standby, and emergency call-outs as required.
Required Qualifications
- minimum 5 years' experience
- valid Certificate of Qualification issued by the province in which the work is performed
- College Diploma/Certification
- Minimum of 5 years' experience required as a licensed Plumber
- Strong ability to adhere and to properly execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance
- Troubleshooting and resolution skills
- Current knowledge of fire, life, safety and building codes and standards and ability to research and apply related codes and standards
- Possesses a strong environmental, health and safety mindset
- Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency
- Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification
- Mentoring skills required to support lower level technicians development
- Must be able and willing to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency call-outs as they arise
- Must be willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment
- Must meet enhanced security clearance requirements
- Valid drivers' license
- Must hold a valid Journeyman level Plumbing license issued by the province in which the work is performed
Desired Qualifications
- Current Backflow Prevention Tester License
