Job Summary

Conduct aviation underwriting by evaluating exposures, determining acceptability and pricing, and ensuring compliance with company guidelines and state/federal regulations. Process policies by reviewing records, endorsements, and invoices while negotiating new business opportunities and providing exceptional service to agents and brokers. Respond to inquiries, handle cancellation and loss run requests, and communicate technical problems with senior staff. Manage daily operations through data entry of premium transactions, organizing files, and transcribing production data. Approximately 15% of time is dedicated to travel for conferences and client visits nationwide.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of underwriting experience in aviation insurance or risk management
  • 4-year degree in insurance, aviation or business
  • strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • proficient computer skills, especially in Microsoft office products
  • ability to work in a fast paced group environment
  • ability to prioritize and handle fluctuating workloads
  • 15% travel availability
  • ability to ensure underwriting practices are in compliance with Company guidelines and state/federal regulations
  • ability to use knowledge and judgment to evaluate aviation related exposures and determine acceptability and pricing of aviation risk
  • ability to comply with internal underwriting approval policy when quoting business
  • ability to develop and negotiate new business opportunities
  • ability to provide exceptional customer service to aviation insurance agents and brokers
  • ability to respond to inquiries from internal personnel and external customers
  • ability to evaluate correspondence, records and reports to properly process policies
  • ability to review assembled insurance policies, endorsements, invoices and certificates
  • ability to communicate errors, delays or other technical problems with senior staff
  • ability to perform face-to-face communication and presenting Company information to agents, brokers and producers

Desired Qualifications

  • FAA licensed pilot
  • Years of experience in aviation insurance or risk management (as a plus)
