Job Summary
Manage and direct after-school childcare programs, ensuring high-quality delivery while supervising staff and volunteers. Implement developmentally appropriate activity plans, conduct systematic child observations, and maintain positive relationships with families through conferences and inquiries. Control program budgets, collect fees, and ensure compliance with state regulations and YMCA safety standards. Maintain program facilities, equipment, and cleanliness while supporting healthy eating and physical activity initiatives. Respond to all agency and community communications, lead staff at events, and complete required annual training hours.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years or older
- At least 18 months of experience serving or working with school-age youth
- Previous supervisory experience
- Enrolled in the Child Care Division Central Background Registry (oregonearlylearning.com) and proof of enrollment
- At least 240 hours of qualifying experience working with school-age children in the last five years in a Certified Child Care Center or comparable group care program
- Must have full availability for M-F shifts
- If required to drive while on duty (either your own vehicle or a Y-owned vehicle), must maintain a current, valid Oregon driver's license, a DMV driving record that meets YMCA standards, and evidence of insurability throughout entire term of employment
- Must be able to walk, run, stand, sit, kneel and get back to a standing position
- Ability to lift and carry the weight of 50lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience with diverse populations
- Bi-lingual; conversational fluency in Spanish, French, Mandarin or Mam
