Job Summary
PLC Specialist to program and troubleshoot automated robotic and vision systems using Allen-Bradley PLCs; modify and optimize PLC programs using IEC 61131-3 languages (Ladder Diagram) for complex multi-station pick-and-place processes; oversee ramp-up of manufacturing lines including mechanical automation equipment, robotics, PLCs, motion control, and vision systems; work with high-speed motion control using Keyence/Cognex vision systems and VFDs in 480 VAC and 24 VDC environments; ensure lockout/tagout procedures; create process standards for duplicating testing systems across Valeo sites; focus on cycle-time reduction to eliminate bottlenecks and optimize investments; design and implement sophisticated in-house control architectures integrating multiple PLCs, sensors, actuators, and automation components; perform benchmarking and stay aware of evolving technologies to guide mid-term actions; handle additional assignments from the Site Process Manufacturing Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering (or other relevant Engineering discipline)
- 4+ years of PLC programming experience, preferably using Allen-Bradley, Fanuc, ABB, or Kuka robotic systems
- Experience programming PLCs in a high-speed industrial environment
- Experience using Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Vision Systems (Keyence or Cognex)
