Job Summary
Design, develop, and test PLC programs for automated manufacturing equipment while troubleshooting existing code to resolve production issues. Modify and optimize PLC logic for improved machine performance, collaborate with engineers to define control system requirements, and develop HMI applications for operator interfaces. Perform routine maintenance and calibration of control system components, and create technical documentation for all control systems. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, three years of PLC programming experience, and proficiency in ladder logic, structured text, and function block diagrams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience programming PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Mitsubishi) in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in ladder logic, structured text, and function block diagram programming languages
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP/IP)
- Experience with HMI/SCADA development and integration
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&ID diagrams
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with SCADA and HMI systems beyond basic interface operation
- Experience with vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence) for quality control or guidance
- Proficiency in a high-level programming language (e.g., Python, C#) for data analysis or custom tool development
- Knowledge of industrial networking protocols like OPC UA or MQTT
