PLC/Controls Technician--2nd Shift

Job Summary
Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize extrusion press control systems, billet heaters, puller controls, and aging ovens. Diagnose PLC, HMI, and drive issues while maintaining and updating Allen-Bradley or Siemens programs. Calibrate sensors, pressure systems, and encoders; inspect motor starters, VFDs, and control panels. Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to improve process consistency and implement safety upgrades. Ensure compliance with electrical codes, lockout/tagout procedures, and machine guarding standards. Document program changes and support preventive maintenance activities. Requires 3–5+ years in industrial controls with strong troubleshooting skills under production pressure.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in industrial controls, automation, or electrical maintenance
- Strong working knowledge of PLCs (Allen‐Bradley, Siemens, Omron, etc.)
- Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, and industrial networks
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and wiring diagrams
- Strong troubleshooting skills, especially under production pressure
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly across departments
