Job Summary
PLC Applications Engineer role focused on developing PLC application programs for monitoring and controlling systems, based on contract documents and System Control Narrative; perform FAT/SAT testing, startup, and customer training; interface company equipment with third-party vendor systems via industrial protocols; provide technical assistance to customers and field service teams; travel to job sites for startup/test/demonstrations; adhere to development standards, document tasks (timesheets, trip reports), and deliver final documentation; requires 2+ years PLC programming experience and proficiency with PLC platforms (Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Siemens, Emerson); work across water/wastewater automation, instrumentation, cybersecurity, and SCADA environments; role performed on-site with travel as needed; travel and field support are required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience in PLC programming
- Knowledge and experience with PLC hardware and programming software (Allen-Bradley and/or Schneider and/or Siemens and/or Emerson)
- Ability to communicate orally with management and other co-workers
- Regular use of telephone and e-mail for communication
- Sitting for extended periods in front of a computer monitor
- Lifting of computer servers, workstations, and peripherals
- Good manual dexterity for setting up computer equipment and attaching associated cables
