Job Summary
Provide care, lead activities, and ensure the safety of children aged three months to twelve years in a structured setting. Build committed relationships with members and volunteers while maintaining privacy regarding personal information. Implement all safety protocols, including CPR/AED certification, and enforce policies such as daily toy sanitization and accurate child check-in/out records. Communicate clearly with parents regarding health concerns or injuries and complete required accident/incident reports. Support the annual branch campaign, attend staff meetings, and learn branch-specific activities like rock climbing or archery. Maintain a safe environment by reporting equipment needs immediately and adhering to core values of honesty, respect, caring, and responsibility.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Experience working with youth in a structured setting
- Complete all required trainings prior to start
- Must obtain CPR certification within the first 30 days of employment
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check including Criminal Record check, Drug Screening, motor vehicle record (MVR) and reference check
- Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship
- Willingness and ability to engage and interact in a positive manner with infants, toddlers and school-aged children
- Willingness and ability to care for the hygiene needs of infants and toddlers, including changing diapers, wiping noses, etc.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, problem solve, and manage time effectively
- Ability to supervise and interact with children in a professional and caring way
- Strong customer service skills and personal commitment to service and hospitality
- Ability to provide sound, caring and positive leadership for children
- Willingness to learn and implement specific, branch based activities such as rock climbing, archery, arts and crafts, enrichment, etc.
- Ability to bend, stoop, stand, sit, lift up to thirty pounds, see, hear, keyboard input, and change diapers
Desired Qualifications
- A working knowledge of computers including MS Word and MS Excel
