Job Summary
Playcenter Attendant at the YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta responsible for supervising and caring for children aged 3 months to 12 years, leading activities, ensuring safety, maintaining child check-in/check-out records, and upholding Keeping Kids Safe policies. Role emphasizes child safety, youth development, and high member engagement; tasks include communicating with parents, conducting activities across literacy and STEAM, and supporting branch campaigns and trainings. Required certifications include CPR/AED; position involves interactions with members, volunteers, and staff, and necessitates the ability to manage multiple tasks, problem solve, and provide positive leadership for children. Location: Norcross, GA and Robert D. Fowler Family YMCA, GA. Must be legally eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age and have experience working with youth in a structured setting
- Complete all required trainings prior to start; must obtain CPR certification within the first 30 days of employment
- A working knowledge of computers including MS Word and MS Excel is preferred
- Exemplify YMCA ideals, character values, leadership qualities
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to supervise and interact with children in a professional and caring way
- Be able to provide sound, caring and positive leadership for children
- Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship
