Job Summary
Platform Engineering, Senior Specialist to build and operate a production OpenShift-based platform in on-prem and support edge controls, service mesh, traffic management, and observability. Role involves OpenShift, Istio-based service mesh, CI/CD pipelines, container image lifecycle, automation (Ansible/Bash/Python), patching, and incident/change management within a hybrid Toronto-based work model. Eligible to work in Canada; Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of related experience required. The role emphasizes hands-on platform engineering, cloud-awareness (AWS/SaaS), and security-focused operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT and/or 8+ years of equivalent IT working experience
- 5+ years in platform engineering/SRE/DevOps/DBA roles with strong hands-on experience on Red Hat OpenShift/Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD tools and automation scripting
- Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity
- Automation-first mindset: Ansible, Bash, and Python; GitOps workflows; IaC familiarity (Terraform helpful)
- Change management (ITIL), maintenance window planning, and rollback engineering
- Experience with observability (Solarwinds, Dynatrace), log platforms, and alerting
