Job Summary
As the Platform Engineering Manager for Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE), you will lead a team to enhance the FDE organization's impact within OpenAI by transforming customer insights into practical platform solutions. This role requires a combination of engineering leadership, product management, and collaboration with customer-facing teams. Responsibilities include guiding the creation of platform bets, validating products with customers, aligning with long-term owners on architecture, maintaining engineering standards, and fostering team development. Success in this position hinges on strong judgment and the ability to influence across multiple stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of engineering experience
- 2+ years managing high-performance engineers
- Strong customer obsession
- Ability to make disciplined decisions under ambiguity
