Job Summary
Build, support, and maintain Kubernetes and OpenShift platform infrastructure while creating and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code. Provide technical analysis to resolve problems, propose solutions, and troubleshoot platform issues and underlying configuration. Coordinate with developers, operations staff, release engineers, and end-users to deliver support, and educate and mentor platform consumers. Participate in a weekly on-call rotation for after-hours support and respond to production operations in a 24/7 environment.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in computer science/engineering discipline or equivalent experience in platform engineering
- Understanding of major Kubernetes components and familiarity with Kubernetes concepts
- Horizontal and vertical scaling for performance and high availability
- Understanding of platform and application observability (tracing, logging metrics)
- Comprehension of top-tier analytics and problem solving
- Ability to work in a service-oriented team environment
- Project Management, organization, and time management
- Customer focused, and dedicated to the best possible user experience
- Communicate effectively with both technical and business resources
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with self-managed Kubernetes and/or OpenShift
- Experience with OpenShift deployments on-prem and in commercial clouds
- Experience with Kubernetes policy engines, e.g. Kyverno
- Experience with Docker and/or Podman
- Build automation and configuration management
- Advanced scripting experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell, YAML)
- Experience with configuration management tools e.g. Ansible, Puppet, etc.
- Familiarity with AI toolsets and agentic troubleshooting
