Platform Engineer - System Infrastructure Engineer

Job Summary

Develop and maintain a broad portfolio of software projects to automate supercomputing resources and introduce cloud-native and AI tools at massive scale. Build, refine, and support API endpoints and integration to backend systems while developing and refactoring scripts in C, Python, and shell. Collaborate with researchers to deploy services using Spin, a Kubernetes-based container platform, and coordinate small project teams for system rollouts and upgrades. Troubleshoot complex technical problems, recommend system improvements for performance and security, and lead the implementation of emerging HPC technologies. Represent NERSC in technical advocacy groups to influence the DOE community and present developments at science conferences. Work independently with a team strategy and project plans, managing Linux systems and CI/CD pipelines within the NERSC data center environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Typically, 8+ years of related experience
