Job Summary

Lead the design, governance, and continuous evolution of the enterprise platform, ensuring it remains secure, scalable, and resilient for engineering teams. Define and govern platform-wide standards for CI/CD, monitoring, testing, automation, and infrastructure across multi-cloud and on-premises environments. Ensure the platform meets federal security and compliance requirements by translating frameworks like FISMA and FedRAMP into practical controls. Champion observability, reliability engineering, and proactive incident response practices across all hosted services. Partner with application and data teams to align platform capabilities with evolving delivery needs while evaluating tooling that improves security posture and operational efficiency. Mentor platform engineers to foster a culture of quality, automation, and shared ownership.

Required Qualifications

  • US Citizenship
  • Public Trust clearance
  • Bachelor Degree
  • 10 years of experience leading DevSecOps initiatives, architecture, automation, monitoring, testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for large scale, multi-cloud and on-premises platforms
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
  • Local to the DMV area
  • Proven ability to design scalable, secure, and resilient platforms, with deep experience in Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, Docker, and Terraform for container orchestration and Infrastructure as Code
  • Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using Harness and GitHub Enterprise, with strong automation practices across build, test, and deployment workflows using Gradle, Maven, and Nexus
  • Proficiency in platform security tooling including Checkmarx (SAST), SonarQube, Prisma Cloud (Twistlock), NexusIQ, Tenable, Vault, PKI, and Akamai CDN/WAF
  • Hands-on experience with AWS platform services including EC2, EKS, CloudFormation, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, KMS, S3, and Lambda
  • Strong experience establishing observability and incident management practices using New Relic, Splunk, Splunk On-Call, and AWS CloudWatch
  • Experience with platform-level testing frameworks and tools including Gatling, JMeter, Playwright, Selenium, and Testcontainers
  • Knowledge of federal security and compliance standards including FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53, with experience implementing compliant platform controls
  • Familiarity with Backstage for software catalog and developer platform management, and experience with Cloudability for cloud cost governance
  • Experience with Confluent Kafka and Elasticsearch for platform-level event streaming and search capabilities
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and Mural for cross-team collaboration, documentation, and agile delivery
