Job Summary
Supervise and direct the operation of plate freezer tables, overseeing up to 6-7 employees. Responsibilities include assigning daily tasks and training, ensuring safety, GMP compliance, managing housekeeping, evaluating product quality through the freezing process, troubleshooting mechanical and operations issues, ensuring timely completion of finished frozen products, and reporting equipment faults and safety hazards to the Production Manager. Requires proficiency with safety rules, reading production/process documents, and ability to perform routine reports; must be able to perform required physical tasks including lifting up to 60 pounds. Reports to Production Manager in a full-time, hourly/nonexempt role in the Production department.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card) status.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening (e.g., drug screen, behavior assessment, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Math ability: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Physical ability to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds; physical demands as described in posting.
Desired Qualifications
- Prior supervisory/leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- GMP experience and commitment to safety standards
- Experience training and directing a team
- Experience with palletizing and freezing operations a plus
- Proficiency with basic math and measurement units
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening (drug test, etc.)
- Ability to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
