Job Summary
Operate the outdoor plate crane to transport product and raw materials from inventory locations to manufacturing work areas, supporting storeroom, shipping, and production needs. Check crane, rails, wheels, and cable conditions, reporting any unsafe issues to supervisors or maintenance technicians. Measure raw material dimensions using tape measures and micrometers, and operate straddle trucks and forklifts to move materials to proper locations. Perform inventory staging, loading, unloading, and delivery while maintaining accuracy through cycle counts and picklists. Transport bolsters to staging areas, unload materials from trailers and rail cars, and dispose of scrap tubes properly. Maintain good housekeeping and perform preventive maintenance on equipment. Work the 3rd shift (11 PM - 7 AM) Monday through Friday, with occasional hours outside standard schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Read tape measure & micrometer
- Ability to read and write English
- Ability to read & write, perform basic math: add, subtract, decimals and fraction
- Become a certified forklift operator
- Become proficient in operating a straddle truck
- Complete overhead crane training program
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year prior experience operating an Overhead Crane
- 1 year prior experience working in a manufacturing environment
- 1 year prior working experience operating heavy equipment
