Plastics Manufacturing Technician

Job Summary
Set up tooling in injection molding machines, adjust barrel temperatures, and verify material and dryer settings while ensuring workstations remain safe and organized. Enter molding parameters into presses, attach end-of-arm tooling, and assist with staging tools for production. Perform preventative maintenance on molds and assigned presses, maintain accurate documentation of process parameters, and communicate production information with staff. Clean technician areas, carts, and auxiliary equipment, and make suggestions for process improvements. Train on day shift for approximately eight weeks and complete required certifications within five months of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read, understand and verbally communicate work instructions
- Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
- Must be able to lift, reach and pull 25 lbs. frequently and 55 lbs. occasionally
- Must be able to stand for long (at least 10) hours per day
- Must have the ability to learn required information and continuously develop skills in a changing work environment
- Must have basic mechanical aptitude
- Must be able to communicate effectively and problem solve
- Must be able to attain forklift, pallet jack, crane and other required certifications
- Must successfully complete Machine Operator, Material Handler, Tool Stager, LOTO, and Mold Setter Certifications within 5 months of hire or job title assignment date
- Must be able to train on Day Shift for approximately 8 weeks
- Swing Shift 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, Monday through Friday
