Job Summary
Follow established standard operating procedures for thermoplastic pipe fabrication, including measuring, cutting, and assembling pipe orders in single sticks or bundles. Operate powered industrial equipment in accordance with OSHA guidelines, maintaining forklift equipment and ensuring pedestrian safety while moving pipe from the yard to storage. Record random pipe lengths, maintain work supplies in an organized manner, and inspect all machinery for functional condition. Cross-train on alternate assignments and perform duties as requested by management to resolve task concerns. This entry-level role supports the Fabrication Shop at a Fortune 500 distributor serving infrastructure, plumbing, and HVAC industries.
Required Qualifications
- Prior fabrication experience is preferred but not required
- Possess good oral and written communication skills
- the ability to work both independently and within a team
- Demonstrate superior math skills
- ability to calculate quantities of product on hand
- Requires proper training in the use of machines for cutting and fusing pipe
- Operate powered industrial equipment according to OSHA Safe Operating Guidelines
- Forklift Safety Training
- FEI Safety Policies
- Knowledge of safe work practices required in the pipe yard
- Operation of machinery for the use of cutting and fabricating pipe according to OSHA regulations and FEI Safety Policies
- Ability to remain results-focused in the fast-paced customer service environment
