Plastics Engineer / Injection Mold Specialist

Job Summary
Optimize injection molding processes and troubleshoot defects like warpage, sink marks, and flash for battery-related components. Adjust parameters to improve quality, cycle time, and scrap reduction while selecting appropriate plastic resins based on mechanical, thermal, and cost requirements. Support new product launches from concept through full production, conduct material testing and root cause analysis, and ensure parts meet regulatory standards. Maintain engineering documentation and specifications while balancing quality, cost, and manufacturability on the production floor. Apply SPC and lean principles to drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in plastics manufacturing
- Entry-level candidates will be considered with strong internship or co-op experience
- Strong knowledge of plastic materials and injection molding processes
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T
- Understanding of SPC and lean manufacturing principles
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
- Experience with injection mold design and tooling validation
- Experience setting up and operating injection molding equipment
