Job Summary
Manage weekly clinic appointments, examine patients to determine surgical needs, and review medical histories to plan procedures in consultation with physician leads. Complete preparatory steps for surgery including obtaining informed consent, scheduling with a pool of surgeons, and providing preoperative education. Perform postoperative visits, conduct ambulatory procedures for wound care, cosmetics, and excisional biopsies, and first assist in the operating room. Assist in promoting clinic programs and providing educational materials. Requires a Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant certification with GA licensure, BLS, and full credentialing. Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body
- Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of GA by the Georgia Board of Nursing
- Advanced Certification in the specialized area if required
- Current American Heart Association, Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Fully credentialed by the credentialing office to work
- Graduated from an accredited Physician's Assistant program
- Certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Licensure to practice medicine through the GA Composite Medical Board
- Maintain status as a certified PA, including completion of all requirements for continuing medical education and re-cert
- Current American Heart Association, Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Fully credentialed by the credentialing office to work
