Job Summary
Quality Supervisor for paper manufacturing leads a team of Quality Technicians to ensure products meet customer specs, regulatory standards, and internal requirements. Oversees inspections, testing, and documentation; reviews test results for basis weight, thickness, moisture, brightness, tensile, caliper, and other properties; monitors quality data and SPC charts; coordinates calibration of testing equipment; investigates non-conformances and drives CAPA and root-cause analyses (e.g., 5 Why, Fishbone, DMAIC). Partners with production leadership to drive continuous improvement, prepares quality performance reports and audits, and mentors staff while promoting a culture of quality, safety, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 3–5+ years of experience in manufacturing quality, preferably in paper, packaging, or converting
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, testing methods, and paper manufacturing processes
- Experience with ISO 9001 or comparable quality management systems
- Proficient with SPC, control charts, and basic statistical analysis
- Effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
