Job Summary
Lead new vehicle plastic parts from design through mass production by creating injection mould designs in CATIA and conducting feasibility studies. Determine injection molding filling concepts using CAE tools like Moldflow, approve mould designs, and instruct toolmakers on necessary changes. Manage quality improvement trials, troubleshoot injection moulding problems, and implement countermeasures. Make specifications for checking fixtures and robot attachments to support mass production. Benchmark new technologies and materials for injection molding, assess their benefits, and implement appropriate ones. Based at the Technical Centre in Brussels, you will support project introduction to European manufacturing facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years University or Engineering school in Materials Science, Mechanical design, Plastics/Polymer Engineering, Industrial engineering or equivalent
- Injection mould design skills
- Some know-how of CATIA and Moldflow/Moldex or equivalent
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Self starter capable to work under minimum instruction/supervision
- Owner of driving license
- Flexible and willing to travel up to 10% internationally
- Open to an international assignment (Japan, North America or within Europe)
- You are fluent in English (TME business language)
Desired Qualifications
- Injection molding process and equipment operation knowledge will be an advantage
- Japanese is considered a distinct advantage
