Job Summary
Operate plasma cutting equipment to produce high-quality metal parts for forestry applications. Set up programs and materials on the plasma bed, load/unload parts, perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure safety and efficiency. Read measuring tools (tape measure, square, vernier calipers) to verify tolerances, coordinate with teammates, and manage material handling (cranes, vacuum lifts) in an in-plant environment in Woodstock, Ontario. Shift: Dedicated Afternoon Shift (4:30pm–3:00am, Mon–Thu) with a $3.00/hour shift premium; benefits include RRSP matching, healthcare, EAP, profit sharing, and frequent company-sponsored events.
Required Qualifications
- Previous related experience operating and maintaining metalworking machinery
- Ability to read and understand tape measures and other measuring tools
- Proven mechanical abilities; interpret engineering documents
- Adapt to changing work environment and handle frequent changes or delays
- Ability to operate lifting devices (cranes, vacuum lifts) and loading materials
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, climb, and kneel
