Job Summary
Determine donor eligibility by conducting medical history interviews, physical examinations, and blood testing while managing informed consent and confidential self-exclusion. Evaluate donor reactions and adverse events, then follow standard operating procedures for medical emergencies, including developing standing orders and transporting donors to emergency care. Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable findings, while supporting Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and coordinate pandemic investigations when authorized.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
