Job Summary

Determine donor eligibility by conducting medical history interviews, physical examinations, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) results. Manage donor adverse events, evaluate reactions per SOPs, and coordinate transport to emergency care facilities when necessary. Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees and manage occupational health incidents. Perform AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion protocols, and informed consent procedures. Report unacceptable findings to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance. Work under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure compliance with plasma collection industry regulations and environmental, health, and safety standards.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
  • Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
  • Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
