Job Summary
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) role involves determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results (SPE), obtaining informed consent, and coordinating with the Center Physician for medical issues. Responsibilities include evaluating donor reactions, following SOPs for medical emergencies and donor safety, supporting vaccination programs for employees, handling occupational health considerations, and assisting with center-level environmental, health and safety guidance. Requires RN licensure in the state, CPR/AED certification, and completed FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist; minimum two years of clinical/hospital experience. The position is a part-time role at the Attleboro, MA BioLife Plasma Services center, reporting to the Center Manager with professional oversight from the Center Physician.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the assigned state
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
