Job Summary
Determine donor eligibility by conducting medical history interviews, physical examinations, and reviewing laboratory test results, including Serological Protein Electrophoresis. Manage donor adverse events and evaluate reactions per SOPs, while overseeing informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion processes. Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs and handle employee incidents requiring occupational health evaluation. Coordinate pandemic threats and investigations when authorized by EHS. This role supports plasma center operations and donor safety under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician. The position contributes to BioLife Plasma Services' mission of collecting high-quality plasma for life-changing medicines.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
