Job Summary
Determine donor eligibility through informed consent, medical history interviews, and physical examinations while managing adverse events and reviewing laboratory results. Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and coordinate transport for medical emergencies, referring unacceptable findings to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs. Support environmental, health, and safety programs, including Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination initiatives, and act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized. Maintain compliance with FDA training and industry regulations while ensuring donor safety and eligibility standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
- Familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment
