Job Summary
Determine donor eligibility through medical history interviews, physical examinations, and blood testing, including proper informed consent and AIDS education. Manage donor adverse events and evaluate reactions per SOPs, while reviewing laboratory results and notifying donors of unsuitable findings. Support environmental, health, and safety protocols and assist with employee vaccination programs. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or technical guidance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
