Job Summary

Determine donor eligibility by conducting medical history interviews, physical examinations, and blood testing while managing informed consent and confidential self-exclusion. Evaluate donor reactions and adverse events per SOPs, reviewing laboratory results and notifying donors of unsuitable findings. Manage employee incidents, coordinate vaccination programs, and support pandemic investigations when authorized. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing standing orders and transporting donors to emergency care. This role supports plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician. The Medical Support Specialist ensures compliance with plasma collection industry regulations and EHS guidance.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
  • Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
  • Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
