Job Summary
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) determines donor eligibility, assesses donor history and physical status, manages donor adverse events, reviews laboratory test results (including SPE) and notifies donors of unsuitable results. Works under the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and the Center Physician for medical issues and guidance, and supports environmental, health and safety programs. Requires LPN/LVN license, CPR/AED, and at least two years of clinical experience; familiar with plasma-regulation and IV therapy requirements. Location in USA - NC - Fayetteville - Morgan; responsibilities include donor screening, informed consent, ACS education, sample collection, donor safety, and coordination with Medical Affairs for medical issues. Compensation includes an hourly wage range and benefits as described; role emphasizes patient-focused care for plasma donors and adherence to SOPs and center policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of a recognized nursing program
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or LVN license in the state of responsibilities
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years of clinical or hospital setting experience
