Job Summary
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) determines donor eligibility, manages donor adverse events, reviews laboratory test results (SPE), and notifies donors of unsuitable findings. Reports to the Center Manager and works under the Center Physician for medical issues; role requires LPN/LVN licensure, CPR/AED and basic IV therapy training, and at least two years of clinical experience. The position is based in a BioLife/Takeda plasma center in Tampa, FL, and is full-time with duties centered on donor safety, compliance with SOPs, and coordination with medical and environmental health and safety guidance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent including graduate from a recognized nursing program with state licensure as LPN/LVN
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
- FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
