Job Summary
The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services is responsible for determining donor eligibility for plasma donation, managing donor adverse events, conducting medical history interviews, and reviewing laboratory test results. This role involves following standard operating procedures for emergencies, referring to the Center Physician for medical guidance, and supporting vaccination programs for employees. To qualify, candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, state licensure as an LPN or LVN, CPR certification, and two years of clinical or hospital experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
Desired Qualifications
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
