Job Summary
Determine donor eligibility through informed consent, medical history interviews, and physical examinations while managing adverse events and reviewing laboratory results. Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs, coordinate emergency transport for medical incidents, and support employee vaccination programs. Manage employee incidents requiring occupational health evaluation and act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized. Perform basic IV therapy and confidential self-exclusion procedures under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
