Job Summary
Plasma Center Medical Support Specialist RN role focused on donor eligibility and safety within BioLife Plasma Services. Responsible for determining donor eligibility, management of donor adverse events, review of lab results (SPE), donor notification of unsuitable results, and adherence to SOPs. Reports to the Center Manager and works with the Center Physician for medical issues; ensures compliance with plasma collection regulations and supports EHS programs. Duties include obtaining informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interviews, physical examinations, blood testing, evaluating donor reactions, handling medical emergencies, coordinating donor transport when needed, and supporting vaccination programs for staff. May act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and participate in investigations related to pandemic threats. Requires current RN/NP/PA licensure, CPR/AED, and nursing program graduate credentials, with two years of clinical/hospital experience; offers an hourly wage range of $35.20-$48.40 in Warren, MI with comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program
- Current license/certification in state of responsibilities: RN, NP, or PA
- CPR and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
- FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
