Job Summary
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife/Takeda in Phoenix, AZ, performing donor eligibility determinations, adverse event management, evaluation of test results (including SPE), donor notification of unsuitable results, and adherence to SOPs and Center Physician guidance. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements)
- Current EMT-Paramedic license/certification valid in the state of responsibility
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Meet state requirements for basic IV therapy
- FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
- Familiar with plasma collection regulations and SOPs
- Experience with donor eligibility assessment and medical history interview
- Ability to manage donor adverse events and radiologically/serological testing results
- Ability to follow Center Physician standing orders and transport donors when needed
- Support vaccination programs (Hepatitis B, Seasonal Flu) and occupational health processes
- Knowledge of EHS guidelines and incident reporting
