Job Summary
Provide Medical Support as a Plasma Center Nurse (LPN) at BioLife Plasma Center. Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. Perform donor screening steps including medical history interview, informed consent, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis results. Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs, under Center Manager guidance and Center Physician oversight. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees, assist with occupational health matters, and participate as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized. Requires high school diploma or equivalent with state nursing licensure (LPN/LVN), CPR/AED, IV therapy qualifications, and at least two years clinical or hospital experience. Philips BioLife and Takeda affiliation emphasizes patient-focused care, regulatory compliance, and center-level support of environmental, health and safety programs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
