Job Summary
Plant Worker/General Labor role performing duties in a processing plant: unload trucks and bins, transfer beans, fill totes and bag beans, stack bagged beans on pallets, complete processing paperwork, inspect and seal outbound loads, operate forklift equipment, load trucks or rail cars, sweep and clean work areas, and maintain safety and sanitation. Requires following instructions, ability to work independently or as part of a team, lifting up to 75 lbs repetitively, wearing PPE, and adherence to food-safety policies. Overtime during harvest season and weekends may be required. Work environment includes dust, debris, and loud industrial conditions; PPE and safety protocols must be observed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs repetitively
- Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and overtime during harvest season
- Overtime will be required not voluntarily at certain times throughout the year but especially during Harvest time
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Basic mechanical aptitude preferred
- Must wear company-required PPE and follow all food safety and sanitation policies
- Follow all company policies regarding food safety and security
- No grease, oil, paint or other such substances on clothes
- No exposed jewelry other than plain wedding band
- No ripped clothing or frayed edges where fabric might fall into the beans
- No contaminated footwear
- Safety toe boots or shoes required
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting throughout the shift
- Ability to reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch as needed
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at varying heights
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts and industrial equipment
- Frequent exposure to dust, debris, and airborne particles
- Occasional exposure to hot, cold, or humid environments depending on season
- Moderate to loud noise levels typical of a processing plant environment
