Job Summary

Conduct daily plant visits to monitor the facility, perform monthly meter reads and fuel dips, and change engine oil. Assist local telecom operations by testing dial-tones and resolving calling issues, while providing hands-on support for power outages and distribution problems at the direction of engineering and operations. Offer local support for traveling technicians and advise Tok operations of outages, available day or night as needed. This part-time role in Allakaket, Alaska, includes occasional travel to Tok and requires working in varied environments ranging from standard offices to loud, non-temperature-controlled areas with rotating equipment.

  • Ability to work around electrical
  • Ability to work around mechanical

  • Willingness to learn unfamiliar parts of the job

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be subject to random drug testing at any time
  • Must be capable of safely lifting of up to 30 pounds on occasion
  • Must have main good balance
  • Safety and PPE must be worn at all times when performing work in the field
  • Occasional travel to Tok may be required

Desired Qualifications

  • 1 year mechanical or electrical experience
