Plant Technician

Job Summary
Plant Technician operates all plant processing equipment and performs routine maintenance in a highly automated chemical facility. Responsibilities include safe and efficient maintenance, basic repairs, cleaning of equipment, assisting Maintenance Technicians, operating the DCS, electrical troubleshooting, documenting results and logs, collecting QA/QC samples and interpreting results to optimize operations, following SOPs, and maintaining sanitation. Requires 12-hour shifts, adherence to safety/environmental standards, and ability to work in a team; duties may include preventive and predictive maintenance, and occasional cross-functional support. Proficiency with Maximo and data-entry into PI systems is preferred; strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Plant Technician I: experience in a production environment preferred
- Plant Technician II: documented successful performance as Plant Technician I or equivalent work experience required
- Plant Technician III: documented proficiency in the Plant Technician III Skills Checklist
- Working knowledge in math, reading comprehension, and mechanical reasoning is required
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are required
- Experience with software systems, such as Maximo, preferred
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills as well as the ability to embrace change
- You’re capable of learning new programs
- You have the ability to understand the technical and day-to-day operation of a bioprocessing facility
- Microsoft Office Suite basics
