Job Summary
Instrumentation, Controls and Electrical Production Technician responsible for safe and efficient operation and maintenance of a 2x1 combined cycle power generation facility utilizing GE 7FA combustion turbines and GE D11 steam turbines with Emerson Delta V and GE Mark VIe control systems. Perform electrical maintenance, troubleshoot and calibrate equipment (high voltage breakers, transformers, pumps, motors, transmitters, alarm systems, and monitoring/recording equipment), and ensure up-to-date electrical and controls P&ID diagrams and panel schedules. Manage work orders, coordinate parts procurement, oversee day-to-day and outage electrical work, and develop familiarity with plant processes to respond to unit trips and abnormal operating conditions. Serve as BOP operator if needed, handle lockout/tagout and safety procedures, and support emergency call-outs. Required to gain basic operational knowledge of plant systems, pass POSS/MASS exam, and possess strong communication skills. Overnight travel may be needed; overtime and weekend work may be required. Education and experience in industrial electrical equipment troubleshooting, 4-6 years in industrial environment, and familiarity with distributed control systems (Delta V, Mark VIe) and instrumentation calibration are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4-6 years' experience in industrial environment
- Demonstrated experience with industrial electrical equipment troubleshooting and maintenance
- General knowledge of station high voltage switching and relaying equipment
- Demonstrated experience with instrumentation calibrations
- Must pass POSS/MASS exam
- Ability to read and comprehend P&IDs
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate station vehicles & heavy equipment
