Job Summary
Assist with plant maintenance, repair, and installation operations for ready-mix concrete plant equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on machinery, troubleshoot malfunctions, and replace defective mechanical parts as needed. Support special maintenance projects, complete required documentation, and communicate equipment issues to plant management. Maintain a clean, organized work environment while following all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and company procedures. This role involves working in an outdoor industrial environment with exposure to varying weather, noise, dust, and moving equipment. Schedules may include overtime, evenings, nights, and weekends. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license, pass a physical and drug screen, and be able to lift up to 80 pounds. Training will be provided for those without prior maintenance experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Must be able to pass a physical examination and drug screen.
- Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds independently when necessary.
- Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights up to 80 feet.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb for extended periods.
- Ability to navigate uneven terrain, ramps, steps, and ladders.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment.
- Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
Desired Qualifications
- Maintenance or mechanical experience preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Experience repairing or servicing engines preferred.
- Basic understanding of industrial equipment such as conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and water systems preferred.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting ability is a plus.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrates commitment to workplace safety and company safety programs.
