Job Summary
Lead and manage capital projects from inception through feasibility, business justification, detailed engineering, equipment selection, installation, and commissioning to achieve successful vertical start-ups. Drive equipment and systems efficiency improvements, cost savings, and upgrades to enhance operational performance. Provide day-to-day and long-term technical support to Operations and Maintenance teams, identifying process maintenance and continuous improvement opportunities. Act as a key technical resource for maintenance and production staff, offering problem-solving expertise and driving the implementation of effective solutions. This hands-on plant engineer role focuses on technical support to operations while leading multiple projects, including capital upgrades and commercialization initiatives, at the Amherst, Virginia plant.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of related experience
- at least 3 years in manufacturing or plant engineering
- Proven track record of managing the planning, analysis, approval, and execution of capital projects
- responsibilities spanning cost management, scheduling, quality control, start-up/commissioning, and training elements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient in SAP
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Proficient in Autodesk Inventor
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- ability to function effectively as both a team member and leader
- Strong technical expertise
- ability to think conceptually and systematically to address complex engineering challenges
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
